England and Wales Cricket Board

At the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University, David Rose spends a lot of time watching cricket. As the Performance Analysis Manager of the England and Wales Cricket Board, David is responsible for the player analysis that informs both England’s team strategy and selection.

"We conduct various research projects to understand what is successful in International Cricket," says David. "Analysis of opposition teams is used to develop game plans and our own players are monitored and profiled to inform the selection process. A vital tool in delivering all this information is Siliconcoach".

Having used Siliconcoach for three years, the England and Wales Cricket Boardalso use the software for skill development. David has built up an extensive library of video footage that has helped to build a better understanding of batting, fielding and bowling technique. And using the Siliconcoach platform, this information is easily shared across England and counties.
David sums it up nicely, “Siliconcoach does exactly what a technical analysis package should do. The biggest selling point is its ease of use, making it accessible to all coaches. The functionality allows you to understand basic measurements and what is going on technically. The linkage with TimeWARP allows best-practice to be easily captured and compared”.
